Cooking Tip

Now is the time of year when many people who don't ordinarily cook much are considering making Thanksgiving dinner. As somebody who can make Thanksgiving dinner but normally finds boiling spaghetti to be too much of a bother, I thought I'd share this tip that I learned several years ago:

If you find a nasty potato that you don't want to use, just throw it in the trash. Do not put it in the disposal in your sink. When fed an entire potato, the disposal becomes a fountain.

Especially, do not do this while guests are at your house, because they will hear you and come into the kitchen, and you will have to explain to them why you have bits of potato all over you and the kitchen.
