I have long suffered from a lousy cell phone signal at home. It's fine everywhere else, but my apartment is in a bad spot. Well, femtocells are becoming available. In fact, you can walk into a Sprint store now and just buy one. They don't necessarily keep to many in stock and you may have to try a couple stores, but they know what it is and can tell you where to get one if they don't have it there. So, after some intense network hackery (someday I should post a diagram of my network just to melt all your brains) I now have six bars of signal in the computer room and four to six elsewhere in the apartment — where I used to have zero to three, and frequently lost calls entirely.
In other news, here's a photo of some Canada geese at work. The one standing on the ground was previously up on the car, but it got too close to the edge and slid off the hood before I was close enough to take a picture.
