Bunny Goes to the Con, Day 2

Went to a bunch of great panels today and one that was sort of poor.

I am not sure what the rationale is for doing a panel on copyright with a bunch of assorted authors. Some authors have taken the time to educate themselves about the laws and issues in depth, but based on the evidence presented today, most just know what they have been told. They have been told by the Writer's Guild, SFWA, and the lawyers for their publishers, who all have a vested interest in a certain interpretation, and sometimes a tendency to simply ignore the law as written and make things up which suit them better. Their one admission that it's not as cut and dried as they made it sound ("nobody knows what the law is until it's been litigated") is actually part of the problem.
